DETAILS THAT SHAPE THE SAMPLE

Review the material, fit and finishing—not just the sketch.

Sample development brings several decisions together: colour and yarn selection, garment measurements, workmanship review and brand presentation. The images below show the kinds of details that can be discussed during development.

Yarn and knit fabric swatches arranged for colour selection

Yarn & colour selection

Review available yarns, knit textures and colour references before confirming the sample direction. Physical swatches and written colour references help align expectations.

Measuring a knit garment during sample review

Measurements & fit review

Review key garment measurements against the agreed specification. Fit comments and measurement changes should be recorded clearly for the next sample decision.

Hands checking knitwear texture and garment measurements

Construction & workmanship

Examine the hand-feel, knit structure, finishing and visible details. The final review criteria should be agreed for the specific product rather than assumed to be universal.

Knitwear brand labels, hangtags and packaging presentation examples

Brand trims & packaging

Discuss main labels, care labels, hangtags and packaging during development. Custom labels generally require a minimum order quantity, so confirm specifications and quantities before bulk production.

SAMPLE DEVELOPMENT FOR FASHION BRANDS

From your product idea to a sample you can evaluate.

BARYSSO supports apparel and knitwear sample development through Dongguan’s established knitwear industry resources. We review your design, materials, construction, workmanship and intended order before confirming the development scope.

There is no universal sample price. Development fees are quoted individually after the project requirements have been reviewed.

A CLEARER START

Share what you know. We will help identify what still needs to be confirmed.

WHERE ARE YOU IN THE PROCESS?

Different projects need different starting points.

Choose the situation closest to yours. These are common project scenarios, not customer testimonials or guaranteed outcomes.

I have a tech pack

Share measurements, artwork, construction notes, materials and reference images for a technical review.

I have a reference garment

We can review the reference garment, available measurements and the details that can or cannot be inferred from it.

I have a design concept

Start with sketches, mood boards, target materials and intended retail positioning. Missing details can be discussed.

I need yarn or colour guidance

Tell us the preferred composition, hand feel, colour references and performance priorities. Availability and matching require review.

I need private-label details

List logo application, labels, hangtags, packaging and trim requirements so feasibility and related costs can be reviewed.

I am planning a bulk order

Share the target quantity, size and colour breakdown, target market and delivery window. The sampling plan should align with the intended order.

HOW SAMPLING WORKS

Eight steps from brief to review.

The exact sequence and timing depend on the product, materials, workmanship, partner capacity and how quickly decisions are confirmed.

01

Share the brief

Send your tech pack, reference images, sketches or initial requirements through PSQ or email.

02

Review feasibility

Review construction, yarn or fabric, workmanship, target quantity, timeline and information gaps.

03

Confirm scope and quotation

Confirm the proposed sample, materials, processes, deliverables, development fee and payment terms before work begins.

04

Arrange materials and development

After the agreed terms are met, coordinate material sourcing, pattern or program preparation and the required workmanship.

05

Make the sample

The sample is developed against the agreed brief. Any material or construction limitations are communicated for review.

06

Send the sample for your review

The sample is sent to you. After receipt, your team can try it on, test or evaluate it, and send feedback for the next decision.

07

Revise and confirm specifications

If revisions are needed, review the requested changes and confirm whether additional development work or charges apply. Approve the final specifications in writing.

08

Plan bulk production

Bulk production starts only after the order details, specifications, quantity, price, timeline and applicable terms have been agreed.

HOW DEVELOPMENT FEES ARE SET

Quoted for your actual project.

Sampling costs vary with the design complexity, material availability, yarn or fabric requirements, pattern or programming work, special techniques, sample quantity and requested revisions. We review these factors before issuing a project-specific quotation.

  • The development scope and deliverables are clarified before payment.
  • Material purchases or testing arrangements are discussed as part of the agreed scope.
  • Any additional revision or extra work is discussed before proceeding.

PLAN FOR THE INTENDED ORDER

Sampling should match your buying plan.

Ready-stock styles

Mixed-style or mixed-item purchasing may be possible without a fixed minimum order quantity, subject to actual available inventory and confirmation.

Custom-developed styles

The general minimum order quantity is 100 pieces per style. The final quantity, colour and size breakdown must be reviewed for the specific project.

Repeat or adapted styles

Some previously developed styles may have records that help with review, but materials, colours, construction, timing and repeat feasibility must be reconfirmed.
